Outpatient Rehabilitation
At Pinebrook, we believe that people who are recovering from an injury, illness, or surgery are best served by a team of rehabilitation specialists experienced in working with patients to achieve their highest level of function and maintain the greatest degree of independence. Our Outpatient Service Center provides outpatient occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology services to people living in the community, upon referral of a physician.

Pinebrook's Outpatient Service Center is staffed by skilled, licensed professionals who provide both inpatient and outpatient care. Our rehabilitation specialists assess your current level of function, set realistic goals, and create an individual care plan to help you reach your maximum level of ability. Our therapists develop personalized therapy programs for people recovering from total joint replacements, orthopedic disorders, neurological disorders, strokes, cardiopulmonary conditions, fractures, amputations, musculoskeletal disorders, surgery, and wounds. Our outpatient rehabilitation programs include:
Physical Therapy
- Gait, transfer, and balance training
- Functional mobility training
- Therapeutic exercise to increase strength and endurance
- Joint protection and energy conservation
- Prosthetic training and management
- Wheelchair recommendations and mobility training
- Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other physical agent modalities
- Activities of daily living (ADL) training—bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, following a medication routine, and community mobility
- Upper extremity strengthening
- Fine motor coordination
- Upper extremity splinting; orthotic recommendations and management
- Adaptive equipment recommendations and training
- Home-management strategies
- Improving or restoring verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Swallowing interventions for dysphagia
- Modified-diet recommendations
- Cognitive retraining to aid reasoning and memory
- Alternative communication systems recommendations and training
